Future tense

Prescribed by the AQA specification.

The short version

After quand, French marks the future twice

English says when I arrive and leaves that clause in the present. French marks both halves as future: quand j'arriverai, je t'appellerai. The same applies after lorsque, dès que and aussitôt que. Writing quand j'arrive for a future event is the classic English-speaker slip.

Quand j'arriverai, je t'appellerai.

When I arrive, I'll call you.

That's the gist. The full article goes deeper - more examples, the edge cases, the why - and the practice below scores like a vocabulary session and earns the same XP.
