Impression est un nom feminin qui designe a la fois un sentiment subjectif et une perception ou image projetee. Avoir l'impression de + infinitif ou que + indicatif est la construction la plus frequente : j'ai l'impression de le connaitre (I have the feeling I know him).
Faire bonne impression / mauvaise impression (to make a good / bad impression) est essentiel dans les contextes professionnels et sociaux. Premiere impression (first impression) et impression generale (overall impression) sont des collocations communes. En impression peut aussi faire reference a l'impression physique (printing).
