Convenio, convenire, conveni, conventum is fourth conjugation, cum plus venio, and it splits into three senses worth keeping apart. People come together: multitudo convenit. Parties reach agreement, usually impersonally with inter and the accusative: inter eos convenit, "it was agreed between them". And something is fitting or proper, again impersonally, with a dative of the person and an infinitive.

The supine stem gives conventus, an assembly, and from that English convent and convention. The agreement sense survives in English covenant, which came through Old French from the present participle.
