ita

ita answers "how?" and points at manner, and because Latin has no plain word for "yes", ita and ita vero are among the standard ways of saying it. Its correlative is ut: ita ... ut gives "so, in such a way, that", and the clause after ut takes a subjunctive when it states a result. sic covers nearly the same ground; the working distinction is that ita tends to look back at something just said while sic describes the manner of the action. No case is involved.
