sic

sic answers the question "how?" and points at manner. It correlates with ut, giving sic ... ut for both "just as ... so" and "in such a way that", where the result clause takes a subjunctive verb. It overlaps heavily with ita, and in a lot of prose either will do; the loose rule is that ita looks back and agrees with a statement already made, while sic describes the way something is done. Adverb, so no case involved.
