answers the question "how?" and points at manner. It correlates with , giving ... for both "just as ... so" and "in such a way that", where the result clause takes a subjunctive verb. It overlaps heavily with , and in a lot of prose either will do; the loose rule is that looks back and agrees with a statement already made, while describes the way something is done. Adverb, so no case involved.
