Mulier, mulieris, f., third declension. Genitive plural mulierum, not mulierium, despite the look of the stem.

Latin has three words where English mostly has one. Femina is female as opposed to male, a biological label that applies to animals too. Mulier is a grown woman as opposed to a girl, and often carries the sense of a woman who has married. Uxor is specifically a wife, in the legal sense. Later Latin lets mulier drift towards "wife" often enough that the Romance languages took it that way: Spanish mujer, Italian moglie, Old French moillier. The adjective is muliebris, "womanly", which in Roman writers is rarely a compliment, and English keeps only muliebrity, a word nobody uses.
