Novem is indeclinable, like every Latin cardinal from quattuor to centum. The number never changes; the noun carries the case. So novem dierum, novem militibus and novem naves all keep novem exactly as it is.

The ordinal is nonus, "ninth", and it turns up in odd places: the nones of the month, and nundinae, the market day that came round every ninth day because the Romans counted inclusively and put both ends in. November was the ninth month of the old year that began in March. The distributive is noveni, "nine each", and the numeral adverb is noviens, "nine times".
