nuper

Nuper is an adverb of time, worn down from novum per, "through what is new". It has a comparative nuperius and a superlative nuperrime, "most recently, very lately", both rare but perfectly good.

The distinction worth holding on to is against modo and olim. Modo means "just now", within minutes or hours; nuper means "recently", within weeks or months; olim points a long way off in either direction, past or future. Nuper normally sits with a past tense, and it modifies participles happily: nuper scriptus, "newly written". Its adjective nuperus exists but is scarce, so when you want "recent" as an adjective, recens is the word Latin actually reaches for.
