Victor, victoris is third declension masculine, an agent noun off vinco, "conquer": the one who has won. The feminine is victrix, victricis, which is where English gets victrix and the aircraft name. Note the ablative victore, not victori, and the genitive plural victorum, which looks exactly like a form of victus and is a standard stumble.

Latin happily uses victor as an adjective in apposition, so exercitus victor is "the victorious army" rather than "the army, a winner". Manuscripts spell it uictor, because classical Latin wrote u and v with one letter; the site normalises to v. Compare victoria, the abstract noun, and the goddess of the same name who stands on half the coinage of the empire.
