Ch 24 · Lesson 19

Saying what you think

Giving an opinion, and asking for one.

Why these go together

(juéde) is the everyday way to say what you think; (rènwéi) is weightier, for a considered view. Asking (nǐ zěnme kàn), how do you see it, is the easiest way to get someone else talking.

  • 。

I think it is a good idea.

Literally: I feel this idea is not bad

  • ?

What is your take on it?

    Literally: you how see

  • 。

Actually, I do not really agree.

  • 。

    You have a point.

    Literally: you speak with reason

  • 。

    I see it differently.

Literally: my view is not the same
