农场 (nóng chǎng) is a farm as an enterprise: land, buildings, animals, the lot. It is the word for the place you visit, work on or grew up on.
English speakers should notice that 农 does not stand alone in modern speech. It only appears bound into compounds like 农民 (a farmer), 农村 (the countryside) and 农业 (agriculture), which is exactly why 农场 counts as a real word rather than a transparent phrase.
Watch the second character. 场 here is chǎng, the same one in 市场 (a market) and 机场 (an airport), all of them open spaces with a purpose. Read as cháng it means something quite different, so keep the third tone.
