Spanish · Chapter 10 · Lesson 12 · Grammar primer
Talking about the future
Two ways: ir a + infinitive (going to) and the inflectional future tense (will). When to use each.
The short version
The one tense that leaves the infinitive whole
Spanish normally chops the infinitive before adding endings. The future does not: the endings attach to the full infinitive, so comer gives comeré and vivir gives viviré. Twelve verbs swap in an irregular stem, tendr-, har-, podr-, dir- and the rest, but the endings never change.
Te diré la verdad.
