Spanish · Chapter 12 · Lesson 6 · Grammar primer
Commands: the imperative
Affirmative tú: habla, come, escribe. Eight irregulars: sé, ve, ten, ven, haz, di, pon, sal.
The short version
Drop the -s and you have a command
The affirmative tú command is the present-tense tú form minus its final -s: hablas gives habla, comes gives come. Stem-changers keep their change, so duermes gives duerme. Eight verbs refuse to play and must be memorised: sé, ve, ten, ven, haz, di, pon, sal. The infinitive is never a command.
Ten cuidado.
That's the gist. The full article goes deeper - more examples, the edge cases, the why - and the practice below scores like a vocabulary session and earns the same XP.
