El autobús perdido

Story

Son las ocho de la mañana. Ana tiene que ir al trabajo, pero ya es tarde. Sale de casa muy rápido y va por la calle. Quiere el tren de las ocho. Piensa: "¡Rápido, rápido!"

It is eight in the morning. Ana has to go to work, but it is already late. She leaves the house very fast and goes along the street. She wants the eight o'clock train. She thinks: "Fast, fast!"

Ana llega a la calle y ve el tren. Pero el tren ya se va. "¡No, no, no!" Ana lo pierde. El tren no está. Ahora tiene que esperar el otro.

Ana reaches the street and sees the train. But the train is already leaving. "No, no, no!" Ana misses it. The train is gone. Now she has to wait for the next one.

Hace mal tiempo esta mañana y el aire es malo. Ana espera sola. Mira la calle, pero no hay gente. Piensa en el trabajo y tiene un poco de miedo. "¿Cuándo llega el otro tren?" El tiempo pasa y el tren no llega. Ana quiere estar en casa.

The weather is bad this morning and the air is unpleasant. Ana waits alone. She looks at the street, but there are no people. She thinks about work and is a little afraid. "When does the next train come?" Time passes and the train does not come. Ana wants to be at home.

Entonces llega una mujer mayor. También espera el tren. Es muy amable. Mira a Ana y le dice: "Hola. ¿Tú también esperas el tren?" "Sí", dice Ana. "Lo pierdo casi cada día." La mujer le dice: "Yo también. No pasa nada."

Then an older woman arrives. She is also waiting for the train. She is very kind. She looks at Ana and says: "Hello. Are you waiting for the train too?" "Yes," says Ana. "I miss it almost every day." The woman tells her: "Me too. It's no big deal."

Ana y la mujer hablan. Hablan del trabajo, de la ciudad y de la vida. La mujer le pregunta por su casa y por su familia. Ana habla de su vida en la ciudad. La mujer escucha y Ana escucha también. Ana ya no tiene miedo. Cuando hablan, el tiempo pasa muy rápido.

Ana and the woman talk. They talk about work, about the city and about life. The woman asks her about her home and her family. Ana talks about her life in the city. The woman listens and Ana listens too. Ana is no longer afraid. When they talk, time passes very fast.

Por fin llega el tren. Ana y la mujer van juntas. Ana mira a la mujer y le dice: "Gracias por hablar." Ahora Ana está feliz. Llega tarde al trabajo, pero hoy es un buen día. A veces perder el tren no es tan malo.

At last the train arrives. Ana and the woman go together. Ana looks at the woman and says: "Thank you for talking." Now Ana is happy. She gets to work late, but today is a good day. Sometimes missing the train is not so bad.
