La aventura de Sofía

Story

Sofía imagina una gran aventura. Quiere ser piloto y volar muy lejos. En su cabeza ve un reino grande, lleno de oro y fortuna. "Un día voy a ver el mundo entero", piensa con alegría.

Sofía imagines a grand adventure. She wants to be a pilot and fly far away. In her head she sees a great kingdom, full of gold and fortune. "One day I'm going to see the whole world," she thinks with joy.

Pero su vida es tranquila. Vive en un barrio pequeño, con casas viejas y calles pequeñas. "Aquí nunca pasa nada", dice Sofía. "No hay aventura en mi barrio."

But her life is quiet. She lives in a small neighbourhood, with old houses and little streets. "Nothing ever happens here," says Sofía. "There's no adventure in my neighbourhood."

Una mañana, su amiga Marta llama a la puerta. "Sofía, necesito ayuda en la granja", dice. "Los animales tienen hambre y no puedo hacer todo sola." Sofía no quiere ir, pero va a ayudar.

One morning, her friend Marta knocks at the door. "Sofía, I need help on the farm," she says. "The animals are hungry and I can't do everything on my own." Sofía doesn't want to go, but she goes to help.

En la granja hay mucho trabajo. Sofía corta pan y da de comer a los animales. Aprende a controlar el agua para el campo. Trabaja todo el día con las manos y aprende cosas nuevas. Es difícil, pero también divertido, y poco a poco se hace más fuerte.

There's a lot of work on the farm. Sofía cuts bread and feeds the animals. She learns to control the water for the field. She works all day with her hands and learns new things. It's hard, but also fun, and little by little she grows stronger.

De repente, una pieza de la puerta se rompe y los animales quieren salir. Sofía piensa rápido. Busca una llave, cierra la puerta y salva la granja. Marta está muy contenta. "Eres la pieza clave de este lugar", dice.

Suddenly, a piece of the door breaks and the animals want to get out. Sofía thinks fast. She finds a key, shuts the door and saves the farm. Marta is very happy. "You're the key piece of this place," she says.

Poco a poco, más amigos llegan a ayudar. Todos trabajan juntos y están contentos. Hablan, cantan y comen juntos, cerca de la granja. El barrio entero se hace una comunidad. Hay música, comida y mucha alegría.

Little by little, more friends arrive to help. Everyone works together and they are happy. They talk, sing and eat together, near the farm. The whole neighbourhood becomes a community. There is music, food and lots of joy.

Esa noche, Sofía mira el cielo. No voló a ningún reino, pero encontró algo mejor. La verdadera fortuna, piensa, no está lejos. Está aquí, en su barrio, con su gente. Ahora sabe que la mejor aventura vive cerca del corazón. Y esa es la aventura de todas.

That night, Sofía looks at the sky. She didn't fly to any kingdom, but she found something better. The real fortune, she thinks, isn't far away. It's here, in her neighbourhood, with her people. Now she knows that the best adventure lives close to the heart. And that is the adventure of all.
