Decode it, then watch it move. is out of and porti is to carry, so should mean to carry out of something, and it can. But the everyday sense is the metaphorical one: to carry a burden all the way through, that is, to endure. English does the same trick with bear, which carries loads and also carries grief.

The family is a good afternoon's work. Porti is to carry or to wear. Alporti is to bring (, towards the speaker). Forporti is to carry away. Kunporti is to bring along with you, enporti to carry in, deporti to carry off. Each is the preposition doing exactly what it says, which means you can read a compound you have never seen and be right.

and are close but not identical. Elteni is to hold out, to withstand, to last: the emphasis is on not breaking. is to carry: the emphasis is on the weight of what you are carrying. A wall the storm; a person a grief. Suferi is to suffer, which says nothing about coping, and toleri is to tolerate, which is chillier and more deliberate. Neelportebla is unbearable, and it is a word worth having ready.
