hispano

Nationality words in Esperanto name the person first, and everything else is derived from that. Hispano is a Spaniard, hispanino a Spanish woman, la hispana (with lingvo understood) is the language, and the country is Hispanio, or Hispanujo in the older -uj- style that Zamenhof used. Note the lowercase: unlike English, the noun and adjective both stay in small letters, and only the country name is capitalised. The same pattern gives anglo, franco, germano and ruso.
