The sentence runs backwards from the English. The thing does the interesting and you are the object, so , and writing claims that you are the fascinating one. For "I am interested in", add -- and the preposition : as . It is the same shape as , and getting the pair right early saves a lot of quiet confusion later. Interesa is interesting, intereso the interest itself.
