Two constructions, and they mean different things. takes a direct object and is the courtroom sense, trying a person. is forming an opinion about a matter. Mixing them up turns a mild view into a sentence handed down.
The affixes do the rest of the work: -- gives o for the judge on the bench, juĝo is the judgement or verdict, and is prejudice, literally a judgement made in advance. is the courthouse.
