and are one letter apart and mean opposite halves of the same story: creating brings a thing into existence, growing is what it does afterwards. Learners mix them constantly, so hear the extra sk as the sound of something already alive.
Kreo is the act of creating, o the ongoing process, kreinto the creator and o the thing created. That -- ending is worth noticing here, because it is the general way Esperanto turns any verb into the concrete result of the verb.
