is intransitive: the thing that advances is the subject, and there is no object to take -n. If you want to say that someone advanced something, reach for i with the causative --, or simply rephrase with plibonigi. The noun progreso covers both a single step forward and progress in general, and a describes a person or a party inclined towards it. In Esperanto writing about learning, is the standard verb for getting better at the language, and progresanto is the recognised label for a learner past the beginner stage.
