is a mass noun and stays singular. The verb means to bleed and is intransitive, so vundo covers in two words what English needs three for. Sanga is bloody in the literal sense, sangoverŝado is bloodshed, and should not be confused with sanga in speech, where the endings carry all the weight. The figurative use survives too: for family descent, as in , works exactly as it does in English.
