Transitive: something or someone wounds someone else. To say you got hurt without naming a culprit, use i, and to describe the state, . The noun vundo is the wound on the body, while is the pain it causes - keep the two apart, since English "hurt" runs them together. a means vulnerable, literally woundable, and the metaphorical use is entirely normal: words in Esperanto just as they do in English.
