Translation
squirrel
Word origin
From Latin sciurus, borrowed from Greek skiouros, which joins skia ('shadow') and oura ('tail'). The squirrel is the animal that sits in the shade of its own tail, and English squirrel comes from the same word by a longer road.

The children watched the little squirrel.
Watch the opening cluster. Sc in Esperanto is two sounds, s then ts, so the word begins s-tsi- and not like English "science". It is the same cluster as in , and getting it right here fixes it everywhere.
