Sale est un adjectif invariable en genre mais variable en nombre (sale / sales). Avant le nom, il a souvent une valeur pejorative figuree : un sale type (a nasty person), un sale temps (lousy weather). Apres le nom, il exprime plutot la malproprePrete physique.
Ne pas confondre avec sale (adjectif de gout signifiant salty). Faire le sale boulot (to do the dirty work) est une expression tres courante. Sales affaires peut signifier des affaires compromettantes. Propre est l'antonyme pour la proprete physique.
