Latin · Chapter 12 · Lesson 2 · Grammar primer

The Latin you already speak

Per se, ad hoc, vice versa, i.e. against e.g. - thirty phrases English uses daily, decoded by the grammar this course taught you.

The short version

You already speak thirty Latin phrases

Per se, ad hoc, vice versa, quid pro quo, et cetera - English never stopped speaking Latin, it just stopped noticing. Most of the phrases are prepositions plus an ablative or accusative doing exactly what this course teaches, and i.e. versus e.g. stops being confusable the moment you spell them out: id est, that is; exempli gratia, for the sake of an example.

per se - through itself; per capita - by heads

the same per, the same case logic, six centuries of English usage

That's the gist. The full article goes deeper - more examples, the edge cases, the why - and the practice below scores like a vocabulary session and earns the same XP.
