For everyone knows this.

Etenim is et plus enim, and the whole point of it is position. Enim is postpositive and can never open a sentence, so a writer who wants to begin a clause with "for" reaches instead for etenim or namque, which stand first. Spotting that saves a lot of confused parsing.

It introduces a reason or a confirming statement, and it is emphatic - "and in fact", "for indeed" - rather than the neutral causal link of quia or quod. Cicero is fond of it at the head of an argument, where it signals that the proof is about to arrive. Namque works the same way, joining nam to the enclitic -que.
