Festum, festi is a second declension neuter, and it is really the adjective festus with dies understood: dies festus contracts to plain festum. In this corpus it is overwhelmingly a church word, naming a saint's day or a feast of the calendar, and in festo sancti with a genitive is the standard dating formula in medieval charters.
Classical Latin prefers feriae or dies festi for the same idea, so a bare festum is a fair marker of a later text. It is the observance, not the meal: for the banquet you want convivium or epulae. English feast, festival and festive all followed through Old French.
