sepulcrum

Sepulcrum, sepulcri, n., second declension, from sepelio, "to bury", with the -crum suffix that names an instrument or place. Classical inscriptions spell it without an h; the spelling sepulchrum is a late and medieval habit, borrowed from the look of Greek loanwords, and this corpus uses both freely. They are one word.

Distinguish the neighbours: tumulus is the mound heaped over a grave, monumentum the marker that remembers the dead, sepulcrum the tomb itself. In the gospels it is the tomb, which is why English inherits Sepulchre with a capital letter and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The verb also gives sepultura, and English burial keeps none of it but sepulchral survives.
