IPAdle: guess the word by its sounds
Six guesses. Type any English word and we score its sounds, not its letters: green is the right sound in the right place, yellow is in the word somewhere else. So ph and f are the same green, and the vowels of though and tough split.

How it works
- Every guess must be a word with an English word page, and have as many sounds as today's word. We show its British transcription, so each guess is a small reading lesson.
- A word that sounds the same as the answer wins: the game is about sounds. Stress marks do not count.
- Signed in, a finished game counts towards your IPA streak and XP.
