单人房(dān rén fáng) - single room in Mandarin

单人房 (dānrénfáng) is a single room, built from 单 (dān, single, one), 人 (rén, person) and 房 (fáng, room). Say the three characters together and you get exactly what they describe: a room for one person.

It is standard hotel-booking vocabulary, sitting opposite 双人房 (shuāngrénfáng, double room). Both words are used at reception desks and on booking websites across the Mandarin-speaking world, so they are worth learning as a pair.
