cuando llega or cuando llegue?
Spanish will not put a future tense after cuando, so the subjunctive does the job.
The rule
cuando with the indicative describes something habitual or already true: cuando llega, comemos. cuando with the subjunctive points at a future event that has not happened yet: cuando llegue, comeremos. Spanish refuses to use the future tense after cuando at all, so the subjunctive is what carries the future for it.
