hablar or hablando?
English uses -ing in places where Spanish flatly refuses to.
The rule
Spanish uses the INFINITIVE where English uses -ing after a preposition or as the subject of a sentence: antes de hablar, hablar es difícil. The gerund is only for an action in progress alongside another: está hablando, sigue hablando. Es difícil hablando is not Spanish, however natural the English feels.
