Cooking Together

Ivy loves Nana. Nana is old, and Ivy is little. Ivy goes to Nana's house. "We will cook fish for dinner," Nana says. "I will teach you." Ivy is very happy. She wants to learn. Nana is a very good cook.

"First, wash your hands," Nana says. Ivy washes her hands in the water. The water is hot on her little hands. Now her hands are clean. Nana washes her hands too. "Good," Nana says.

Nana takes out the fish and puts it on the table. "Watch me," Nana says. She cuts the fish. Then she puts it in some water. "Now you help," she says. Ivy puts the fish in the water too. She is proud.

"We cook it on the fire," Nana says. Nana shows Ivy how to hold the fish. They put the fish on the fire together. The fire is hot. They watch and watch.

Some water is on the table. Some is on Ivy's face. Her hands are dirty. Her face is dirty too. "Look at you!" Nana says. Ivy looks at her hands and laughs. Nana laughs too. They are very happy. Ivy loves to cook with Nana.

Nana gives Ivy a little piece of fish. "You taste it," Nana says. Ivy tastes the fish. "It is good!" she says. She wants to eat some too.

Soon the fish is hot and good. "The fish is good," Nana says. Ivy is happy. She made the fish with Nana.

Nana puts the fish on the table. It is a good dinner. Nana and Ivy eat together. "This fish is good!" Ivy says. She is very proud.

"You are a good cook, Ivy," Nana says. Ivy loves Nana. Nana gives Ivy a big kiss. They eat the hot fish together. It is a good day.
