A root that pays for itself through the suffixes. -- gives , -um- gives nothing useful but sendenta covers toothless, and compounding gives dentodoloro for toothache and dentobroso for a toothbrush. The word also covers the teeth of a comb, a saw or a wheel, exactly as English does. One small point of grammar: possession of body parts uses the ordinary possessive, so , and Esperanto does not do the French trick of leaving the owner implied.
