The form you will actually use is the adverb. opens an enormous number of Esperanto sentences, because narrative prose runs on it: something is going along quietly and then suddenly it is not. The adjective is straightforward and takes no unusual construction. Do not confuse with , the preposition meaning under - they look related and are not. There is no useful - pair here; the opposite of sudden is laŭgrada, gradual, from a different root.
