omnino

omnino is the adverb of omnis, and it has three settings. As a plain intensifier it is "wholly, entirely". With a numeral it totals things up: omnino octo, "eight in all". Standing next to a negative it becomes "at all": omnino nihil, "nothing whatever".

Word order decides the scope of the denial, exactly as it does with non and omnes. non omnino intellego concedes part of the point, "I do not entirely follow", while omnino non intellego concedes nothing, "I do not follow at all". English does the same work with stress rather than order, so the distinction is easy to flatten in translation.
