Examples

.

He writes well enough.

.

.

We have heard quite enough already.

Satis never changes its ending, and when it stands as a quantity the thing measured follows in the partitive genitive, satis temporis, enough of time. Put it in front of an adjective or adverb and it softens rather than counts, so satis bene is well enough or fairly well. Verse and colloquial prose clip it to sat, and its comparative satius means preferable rather than more enough.
