Sine always takes the ablative, with no exceptions to remember. It is the exact negative of cum plus the ablative, so cum amicis and sine amicis are a matched pair. One difference is worth noting: cum fuses onto the pronouns and gives mecum and tecum, while sine never does, so 'without me' is sine me and nothing shorter. Sine dubio, 'without doubt', is worth learning whole.
