出生地点(chū shēng dì diǎn) - place of birth in Mandarin

出生地点 (chūshēng dìdiǎn) means "place of birth", pairing 出生 (chūshēng, to be born) with 地点 (dìdiǎn, location, spot). It is the twin of 出生日期 (chūshēng rìqī, date of birth), and the two nearly always appear side by side on official forms.

A shorter, more colloquial alternative is 出生地 (chūshēngdì), dropping 点 (diǎn) entirely. Both are correct, but 出生地点 (chūshēng dìdiǎn) is the fuller, more formal version you are more likely to see written out on an application.

Note that 地点 (dìdiǎn) on its own just means "place" or "location" in general, so do not assume the compound is only ever about birth; the sense of "birth" is carried entirely by 出生 (chūshēng) in front of it.
