气候变化 (qìhòu biànhuà) is the everyday term for climate change, made of 气候 (qìhòu), "climate", and 变化 (biànhuà), "change, transformation". All four syllables carry fourth tone, which makes the word sound clipped and insistent when you say it, fittingly for a topic people tend to argue about.

You will meet this word constantly in AQA-style topics on the environment, in news broadcasts, and in school debates: 应对气候变化 (yìngduì qìhòu biànhuà), "to tackle climate change", and 气候变化的影响 (qìhòu biànhuà de yǐngxiǎng), "the effects of climate change", are both extremely common collocations worth learning alongside the headword.

Do not confuse 变化 (biànhuà), a general noun meaning "change" that can describe anything from the weather to someone's mood, with 变暖 (biànnuǎn), "warming" specifically. 气候变化 (qìhòu biànhuà) is the broad umbrella term; 全球变暖 (quánqiú biànnuǎn) is one particular symptom of it.
