Hear Latin America's accents
Radio Ambulante tells true stories from across Latin America, in Spanish, with the voices of the people who lived them.
Radio Ambulante tells true stories from all over Latin America, in the accents of the people who lived them, and its episodes come with Spanish transcripts. Pick an episode from a country whose accent you have not heard much, listen to the first fifteen minutes, then write three sentences in Spanish: where it is set, what happened, and what you noticed about the accent.
You will not catch every word, and nobody does at first. Catching the topic and a handful of words you know is the whole win.
An example you can adapt
Escuché un episodio de Radio Ambulante sobre Argentina. Al principio me costó entender el acento, sobre todo el vos y la ll, pero al final me acostumbré. La historia era preciosa.
I listened to a Radio Ambulante episode about Argentina. At first the accent was hard to follow, especially vos and the ll, but in the end I got used to it. The story was beautiful.
