is transitive: the thing that upsets you is the subject and you are the object, which is the reverse of the English habit. So , the weather distresses me, not the other way round. To make yourself the subject you need i, to become upset. The noun ĉagreno is grief or vexation, and ĉagrena describes something distressing. It sits a shade lighter than and a shade heavier than , which is mere nuisance.
