The root does the whole family for you: -in- gives for a daughter, and - gives oj for a set of children of both sexes. That last one is worth having, because English "children" blurs two different ideas that Esperanto keeps apart. is a relationship, so a fifty-year-old is still somebody's ; is an age, a child rather than an offspring. Say oj when you mean your own children and when you mean the small ones running about.
