Three near neighbours pull apart nicely here. is to attempt, to have a go. is to strain, to put effort in. is to bustle about on someone's behalf, running the errands and making the arrangements, and it carries a faint whiff of inconvenience willingly taken on.
It takes for the matter you are busy with, or a straight infinitive for what you are trying to bring about. Klopodo is the trouble taken, usually in the plural in thank-you letters.
