Translation

tired, weary

Examples

.

I am very tired today.

.

The tired soldiers sat down on the ground.

.

After the long journey he became tired.

.

She looked at me with tired eyes.

.

I am tired of this work.

Watch the preposition. Physically tired needs nothing after it, but tired of something takes : . The root is generous: i is to get tired, i is to tire someone out, and o is tiredness as a state. Note that and laciĝinta are not quite the same - the first describes how you are now, the second insists on the process that got you there, which is why translations of the Bible and of nineteenth-century novels lean on it more than everyday speech does.
