Translation

to disappear, vanish

Examples

.

The ship disappeared behind the island.

.

He vanished into the darkness.

.

My money disappeared from my pocket.

.

The sun disappeared behind the mountain.

, .

She vanished, and nobody saw her again.

- reverses and the pair is perfectly symmetrical, which spares the language a separate root for vanish. It is intransitive, so nothing takes -n after it. To make something else disappear you would need i, though most writers reach for instead, which is plainer. o is the disappearance as an event, and describes whatever has already gone.
