Translation
finally, at last
Word origin
An Esperanto-internal reduplication of the root fin- ('end', from Latin finis). Fine already means finally; doubling the root to finfine adds the sigh of relief, at long last.

Examples

.
The rain finally stopped.
, .
After a long wait, we finally ate.
Fine closes a list, the way an essay says finally; closes a wait. If the bus arrives after forty minutes you say !, not fine!. The doubling trick is rare but real in Esperanto: is crammed full on the same pattern.
