English says teach someone something and lets both nouns sit bare after the verb; Esperanto makes you pick which one is the direct object. puts the subject matter in the accusative and the learner behind . flips it. Both are correct, and only the ugly is not. is the teacher, o the activity, instruo a teaching or doctrine. Do not mix up with , which runs the other way.
