movi

Transitive, always: something moves something else. If a thing moves under its own steam, it moviĝas. So la nubo moviĝas for the cloud drifting, but la vento movas la nubon for the wind pushing it. English collapses the two and Esperanto will not.

Movo is a single move, the kind you make in a game. Movado is a movement in the organised sense, which is why Esperantists talk about la movado and mean the whole international business, congresses and quarrels included.
